Margaret Gisch is Chair of Golan Christie Taglia’s Litigation Practice Group and is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

Peggy helps companies identify and resolve business disputes prior to litigation as well as in state and federal court or through informal or formal arbitration or mediation processes. Her practice focuses on:

  • Shareholder/ownership disputes
  • Restrictive covenants (covenants not-to-compete)
  • Trade secrets
  • Contract issues
  • Defending against employment claims

She believes in a strong strategy from the outset, gathering all relevant information and developing an informed and nuanced plan to address problems and realize resolutions.

In addition to her litigation practice, Peggy provides guidance on employment issues and practices.

Prior to joining GCT, Peggy was an Associate with Goldsmith, Thelin, Dickson & Brown in Aurora. She served as Assistant State’s Attorney in the State’s Attorney’s Office of Edgar and Clark Counties (1990-1991) and started her career as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In recognition of her outstanding work and efforts to mentor and promote other women, Peggy has been selected to Chicago Lawyer's Top Women in Law list in 2022. The 3rd annual list features 35 exceptional women leaders who have made a notable impact on their communities and the legal profession at large. She has also been listed on Crain's 2025 Chicago Business' Notable Litigator & Trial Attorneys. More recently, she was placed in the Order of Veritas by the Litigation Counsel of America, Proven Trial Lawyers. Qualifying by completing twelve or more jury and/or bench trials to verdict and three appellate oral arguments before state courts.

Peggy enjoys traveling internationally and domestically. She lives in Chicago and enjoys experiencing the city’s rich cultural and restaurant options.
