Bill Drafted by Donald T. Rubin Signed into Law as Public Act 103-0583
IL Senate Bill 1988, drafted by Golan Christie Taglia partner Donald T. Rubin, was recently signed into law by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker as Public Act 103-0583. The bill was sponsored by the Illinois Property Tax Lawyers Association, which Don also founded.
Effective June 1, 2024, the new law will provide taxpayers throughout Cook County with additional time to complete their appeals, extending the filing period at the Cook County Assessor’s Office from 30 calendar days to 30 business days, assisting taxpayers and reducing deadline stress for practitioners and appraisers.
