Golan Christie Taglia is proud to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Month. As such, we are highlighting some of our clients and friends, shining a light on their accomplishments, work, and the impact they make on the community around us. Though the month of celebration is relatively new, the history, culture, and accomplishments, are venerable and long established.

Kicking off this celebration, we are thrilled to spotlight ** Jun (Justine) Zhou** – a multi-hyphenated financial advisor who prides herself on creating a business, Zhou Agency, that not only builds close relationships with her clients but also encourages the constant personal and professional growth of her talented team.

Justine emigrated from China to the United States over thirty years ago. As a young single mother Justine was determined to build a career and life for herself and her children. Since then, she has paved her own way in the world and has made an impact on her clients and their families that will last generations beyond her. Justine incorporates her culture into her business and thinks of her employees as her family. Her strength, leadership, and determination will continue to lead generations to come.

1. What is the name of your business, and what products or services do you provide?

We have 3 companies: Jun Zhou CPA Ltd, Jun Zhou Insurance Agency Inc. and Citywide Real Estate Inc. all under one umbrella: Zhou Agency LLC. We provide fully integrated financial services, including tax preparation, planning and consulting, real estate consulting, retirement planning, and business consulting.

2. What inspired you to start your business?

To be honest, in the beginning it was to make a living. I was a single mother with 3 young children and walked out of a bad marriage. But now, I am aiming to create value by building a community to solve problems for our clients.

3. What does being a part of the AANHPI community mean to you as a business owner?

I always feel I run a very different business than the mainstream. I must work harder to prove myself. But that only made me better. I am not bitter. This is a wonderful country. I came here 30+ years ago with nothing but raw ambition and I am happy that I built something valuable and meaningful. I would like to mentor more people like me and to show them that when there is a will, there is a way.

4. What challenges have you overcome on your entrepreneurial journey?

Quite a bit of economic cycles. But the biggest challenge is people. How to recruit, train and retain good people has always been my biggest challenge.

Our Mission. To build meaningful, lasting relationships with clients while securing their financial future. To create an energizing work environment that encourages constant personal and professional growth.

One additional thing that is very cultural: I treat our team like family. I know sometimes it has a negative connotation in American culture. But I stand by it!
