Golan Christie Taglia is delighted to announce that Melanie Kanakis has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Melanie concentrates her practice in commercial real estate and corporate law & governance.

Melanie earned her J.D. at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was awarded the CALI Award in Legal Writing IV: Complex Business Transactions. While in law school, Melanie participated in Chicago-Kent’s Federal Health Litigation Clinic, where she represented clients seeking recovery for vaccine injuries.

She is a member of many notable organizations including the American Bar Association, Hellenic Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. In her free time, Melanie is a globetrotter and she loves to explore Chicago’s wide variety of restaurants!
