Melanie Kanakis joined Golan Christie Taglia as an associate in 2024 and concentrates her practice in corporate transactions and commercial real estate. Prior to joining GCT, Melanie worked at a boutique law firm specializing in commercial real estate.
Melanie earned her J.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022. She focused her studies on business law and received a CALI Award in Legal Writing IV: Complex Business Transactions. While in law school, Melanie participated in Chicago-Kent’s Federal Health Litigation Clinic, representing clients seeking recovery for vaccine injuries.
In her free time, Melanie loves to travel and explore Chicago’s restaurants.
