Last Chance to Appeal Your 2025 Tax Year Assessment
December 10, 2025
Due to the delay in issuing the 2024 Second Installment Tax Bill (payable on December 15, 2025), the Cook County Board of Review has announced a rare reopening of property tax appeals for the 2025 tax year for selected townships.
Reopened Appeal Window
If your property is located in any of the following townships, the deadline to file an appeal is December 12, 2025:

Appeal Deadline
The reopening of these townships does not impact the December 19, 2025 deadline for properties located in Jefferson, Proviso, or Wheeling townships.
Deadlines Not Yet Published
The Board of Review has not yet announced appeal deadlines for properties located in the following townships:
Bloom, Hanover, Lake, Niles, North Chicago, Orland, Palatine, Rich, Schaumburg, South Chicago, and Thornton.
