Steve is a member of the Estate Planning & Taxation Practice Group at Golan Christie Taglia.

Steve concentrates his practice in the areas of tax and estate planning and IRS Controversy with the goal of helping individuals, families, business owners, and businesses preserve wealth through tailored estate and tax planning strategies.

Based on his extensive experience in family office formation and operation, entity structuring, asset protection, special needs planning, audit defense and installment agreements, he advises clients on the design and implementation of sophisticated trusts, wills, gifting strategies, charitable giving, and business succession plans.

In addition to his estate planning work, Steve provides comprehensive tax planning counsel, including income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters. He regularly works with high-net-worth families, closely held businesses, and family offices and collaborates with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to deliver coordinated, tax-efficient solutions.

His experience includes:

· Drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts, including QTIP, GRAT, and IDGT structures

· Advising on federal and Illinois estate and gift tax considerations

· Structuring business succession plans for closely held entities and family offices

· Drafting partnership, limited liability company, and corporate governing documents and succession plans, and analyzing related tax issues

Steve joined GCT in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, Steve was a Senior Associate at Handler Law, LLP (formerly Handler Thayer, LLP) where he focused his practice on family office formation and operation, taxation, and estate planning. Prior to embarking on his legal career, Steve worked for various tax preparation and planning accounting and consulting firms.
