Golan Christie Taglia is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Rambach, Leynee Cruz Flores and Laurie Smigielski have joined the firm.
Jeffrey Rambach, a partner in GCT's Estate Planning & Taxation and Corporate & Real Estate groups, focuses his practice within the world of tax law, utilizing more than three decades of experience to provide clients with reliable counsel and personalized solutions that meet their ever-changing needs. Jeff regularly counsels corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in a variety of industries on mergers and acquisitions, structuring and formation of new businesses, entity planning and navigating various state and local tax issues, among other services. In addition, Jeff also has a substantial trusts and estates practice. In this area, he helps clients achieve their goals related to personal wealth transfer including business succession planning, handling their fiduciary income tax issues and resolving estate and gift tax disputes.
Leynee Cruz Flores leverages her varied experience in all areas of trust and estate administration to implement practical and effective solutions for each of her clients. Her practice centers on trust and estate administration, litigation of wills, trusts, guardianships and powers of attorney, and all matters related to estate planning. Her clients, which include both corporate fiduciaries and individuals, rely upon her knowledge to assist them in claims involving competency, breach of fiduciary duty, undue influence and disputes over assets. Leynee is regularly appointed by Cook County judges as Guardian ad Litem in cases involving disabled adult guardianships. Leynee serves as the Immediate Past President of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, the Young Professionals Board for the Center for Disability & Elder Law, Treasurer of the Hispanic Lawyers Scholarship Fund of Illinois and as a Director of Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.
Laurie Smigielski concentrates her practice on a wide range of commercial litigation and employment law issues. Drawing upon her diverse experiences in the field, Laurie offers clients a unique perspective on handling their most complex litigation matters. Before joining GCT, Laurie served as a judicial clerk to The Honorable M. David Weisman and The Honorable Jorge L. Alonso in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Laurie also served as Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General where she practiced in the labor and civil prosecutions units. In this position, Laurie also first-chaired numerous trials and administrative hearings, defended state agency decisions and argued significant motions before the court.
