Summer Update from Tony Taglia and GCT
Summer is around the corner in Chicago – that time of year so perfect it scrubs our memories of those cold Chicago winter days.
As a firm, we are looking forward to several events this summer where we will gather in support of important causes and each other. In commemoration of the abolition of slavery, we are proud to celebrate Juneteenth, and in keeping with our commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the firm will be holding a day of service on which attorneys and staff members will volunteer with Big Shoulders Fund at St. Catherine/St. Lucy School in Oak Park, Illinois. The recognition of Juneteenth has become an important tradition at GCT with strong participation from attorneys and staff.
Lauren Dreifus, Morgan York, Taylor Saucier and Amanda Parmer will be running as GCT’s Chicago marathon team in support of the American Cancer Society and our colleague David Ben-Dov who is currently fighting the disease. If you would like to support their efforts as the team trains hard this summer for race day in October, click here.
We have grown significantly over the past year, bringing on Kimberlee Jones, Brian Whitlock, and most recently Chris Parker, who rounds out our Employment Law practice, as well as Shelby Nikoloff who will join us later this month. The Executive Committee has remained focused on ensuring the additions to our firm are not only strong in their technical abilities but also good cultural fits. This intentionality has allowed us to grow the GCT family while staying true to our roots in client service and collegiality.
The future looks bright at GCT. We continue to gather quarterly as a firm to ensure transparency with our growth plans and business operations. These meetings have become a cornerstone at the firm, giving us an opportunity to gather to celebrate our client and internal team successes, as well as advance key strategic initiatives to ensure the future of the firm.
As we look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and their families at our annual summer picnic later this month, I want to express that I am tremendously proud of our team and the work they do in service of our clients – and each other – every day.
Along with Darrin Baim, Peggy Gisch and all of our attorneys and staff, I wish you all the best that Summer in Chicago can offer.
