Chris Parker is a partner in Golan Christie Taglia’s Employment Law practice group concentrating his practice on employment litigation and counseling. He has extensive experience handling cases in federal and state jurisdictions throughout the country, whether trials, appeals, arbitrations or mediations, as well as counseling clients through a wide range of employment law issues.
Chris works with clients to provide effective, efficient resolutions to a variety of complex employment and commercial litigation matters, including:

- Commercial real estate

Chris has an impressive track record of success and consistently obtains favorable judgments and outcomes for his clients, who include government municipalities, banks, manufacturers and other companies.
Prior to joining GCT, Chris practiced at Michael Best & Friedrich. He also previously worked on the legislative staff for former U.S. Senator Paul Simon in the United States Senate.
Chris lives in Evanston, Illinois with his wife Amanda, son George, daughter Genevieve and their miniature dachshund, Peanut. In his spare time, Chris enjoys traveling and watching his kids' sporting events.

New amendments adopted by the Illinois Legislature took effect January 1, 2026, and outline that any discriminatory employment decisions assisted by AI are strictly prohibited. This includes protected characteristics and using zip codes as a proxy. Employers must also notify employees about the use of AI in their company. In Ames v. Ohio Dept. of Youth Services, the Supreme Court ruled that Marlean Ames was allowed to establish discrimination from her previous place of employment with the same standards of proof as those from minority groups. Before this decision, certain federal circuit courts required a higher burden when discrimination claims were brought by a member of a majority group.
